It is a great honor to serve as your state senator in the Minnesota Legislature, representing Chatfield, Dover, Eyota, Rochester, Stewartville and 14 Olmsted County townships. We are vibrant and diverse. We are common sense hard working compassionate innovators and leaders.
We are living in unprecedented times. The pandemic has upended our daily lives. Just as our economy was sputtering back to life, Minnesotans were stunned, and saddened at the death of George Floyd while in police custody. Peaceful protests were co-opted by looters and arsonists. 1500 locations were damaged, many of them minority owned. The events shook our state, its people and our country to the core. Minnesotans have stepped up in these challenging times, supporting one another impressively during the pandemic and racial unrest.
Terry and I love this area. We raised our family here. We own a small business here. And I taught in our public schools here. We must not be complacent about our children, our health, our safety, or our economy. We must ensure equal opportunities and justice for all. It is our duty to ensure the American Dream is open for all.
I will continue fighting for our shared values and making sure the American Dream is open for all. I will continue to bring common sense solutions to the complex problems we face today in Minnesota.
I work for you. Together I know we can do great things!
