Constitution Day
Today is Constitution Day!
On Sept. 17, 1787, the US Constitution was signed by 39 brave men who changed the course of history. Today Constitution Day is the time for us to continue their legacy and develop habits of citizenship in a new generation of Americans.
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) advocated for Constitution Week, which was signed into law by President Eisenhower in 1955. As a member of the DAR, I invite you to participate in Constitution Week activities. At noon today, the Mayo Clinic Carillon will play patriotic music and at 3:00 PM church bells will ring in honor of this event. Visit the public library and city hall to view a copy of the Constitution provided by the Rochester DAR.
