Letter Writer to Post-Bulletin: Nelson Demonstrates Bipartisanship

From today’s Post-Bulletin:
Letter writer Nancy Cribbs stated that DFL candidate Ken Moen will become a “bipartisan” senator and also blames Sen. Carla Nelson and Republicans for shutting down state government.
Really? The Republicans did not shut down state government — Gov. Mark Dayton did. His veto forced a shutdown after the Republicans presented him with a balanced budget. Evidently there was not enough tax increase to pass this legislation.
Carla Nelson sponsored 21 bills with bipartisan support, bills that Gov. Dayton signed. Hardly the obstructionist that Ken Moen presents.
Moen’s stand on partisanship is unfounded. Several years ago at a debate watch party, a flyer stated, “If you plan to cheer for McCain, you might consider wearing your body armor.” Does this sound like bipartisan support to you? I doubt it.
