Minnesota State Senator Carla Nelson has been piling up endorsements from groups whose goal is to foster economic growth and job creation here in Minnesota. Recently, Sen. Nelson was endorsed by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Leadership Fund Political Action Committee. In their endorsement, David Olson, Secretary/Treasurer of the Chamber Leadership Fund noted,

“Our…endorsement is a strong statement to businesses and employees that Senator Carla Nelson is committed to job growth and economic vitality for Minnesota. Voting for Senator Carla Nelson is one of the best steps citizens in Senate District 26 can take to secure their economic future.”

Today, Sen. Carla Nelson was endorsed by Minnesotans For Jobs and Economic Growth. In their endorsement, they lauded Sen. Nelson for “your commitment to creating an economic environment that values the free enterprise system and for your support of pro-growth and pro-job public policies.”

Sen. Nelson stressed her experience as a small-business entrepreneur in her understanding of how business works, and how the economy of Minnesota works best for employees and consumers when government fosters development.

“In the Senate, I serve on the Jobs and Economic Growth Committee. This is a committee assignment I take very seriously. I try to approach this job from the point-of-view that our purpose here in Minnesota is not to demand ‘shared sacrifices’ from our citizens and businesses for an ever-shrinking slice of the pie. As someone who’s started and grown a business firsthand, and who’s not only signed the back of the check – but signed the front of the check, as well – it’s my job to help businesses and entrepreneurs bake a bigger pie. That’s the only way to keep the jobs that are already here in Minnesota and create new jobs.”

This summer, Sen. Nelson received the “Legislator of Distinction Award” from the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities. They cited Sen. Nelson for her authorship of the Angel Investment Tax Credit enhancement bill, which extended the credit to businesses in the rest of Minnesota, outside of the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area.
