Minnesota Farm Bureau Endorsement
ROCHESTER, MN – Senator Carla Nelson (R-Rochester) today announced she has earned the endorsement of the political action committee of the Minnesota Farm Bureau, which represents nearly 30,000 farmers across Minnesota.
“Carla has been a strong supporter of our most important issues, including workforce development, sustainability and research and investment,” said Ray Johnson, Chair of the Farm Bureau political action committee. “Our members are excited to endorse Carla’s campaign and have her going to bat for farmers across Minnesota.”
“Thank you, Minnesota farmers, for providing a robust food supply for us and much of the world,” said Sen. Nelson. “Food security is national security, and you are the Agri leaders we need today. Both my husband and I come from a long line of farm families; in fact, our first date was at a Farm Bureau Annual meeting. Your endorsement means so much to me.”
Senator Nelson helped pass the Beginning Farmer bill and then as Tax Chair she expanded the Beginning Farmer Bill and Ag 2 School Tax Credits. Working with her colleagues in a bipartisan manner she helped pass robust investments to improve high speed broadband access. Your input helped her write part of the drought relief bill passed in 2022.
Nelson is focused on empowering Minnesotans and driving economic growth for all. She authored and passed bipartisan legislation to lower income tax rates for every tax filer, end the double taxation on social security benefits and disability income, provide property tax relief and tax credits for parents to help secure paid sick leave, childcare and dependent care.
