Letter Writer to the Post-Bulletin: Nelson Understands Business Climate

Article, Legislation, News, Newspaper Article business, sen. carla nelson, senate district 26, tax climate

Sen. Carla Nelson

From today’s Post-Bulletin:

After watching the debate between Carla Nelson and Ken Moen, it is clear we have a real choice for Senate in our district. The most important issue for Minnesota is jobs and the economy, so I paid close attention to the candidates’ answers on how to make Minnesota more attractive to attract and retain businesses.

I was stunned to hear Ken Moen start his answer with, “Minnesota has thrived at times when we’ve had higher taxes then we actually have now.” He then went on to say higher taxes aren’t a “great hurdle.”

I completely disagree. Minnesota’s business tax climate index is ranked 45 out of 50, with 50 being the worst in the nation! How low does Mr. Moen want to go?

If you want job growth, I encourage you to vote for Carla Nelson. She is a businesswoman who helped balance the budget without increasing taxes!
