Letter: Carla Nelson supports efforts to expand the Reading Center
Originally published in the Post Bulletin
For 65 years, the Reading Center has been assisting people with dyslexia to become successful, productive adults. Sen. Carla Nelson shows us how much she cares about children and education, so it was a natural fit that she provided strong leadership and support in the Minnesota Senate for inclusion of funds within the capital bonding bill to help the Reading Center grow and expand, to allow us to serve more people throughout the state.
We appreciate her commitment to us and to the citizens of Rochester as she represents us in St. Paul. We look forward to working with Sen. Nelson and the other legislators from the region as we continue our expansion efforts.
Join us at our 65th anniversary celebration dinner where Jerry Pinkney will speak about his life as a dyslexic learner who became a world-famous Caldecott award-winning children’s book illustrator. Check our website at www.TheReadingCenter.org for more information.
