Letter: Sen. Carla Nelson focuses in what matters most for our region

This hasn’t been the most inspiring election season, but when I get tired of the mud-slinging of the presidential candidates, I remind myself and my friends that things in our state and community are really pretty good — and that we have some excellent people seeking to represent us.

One of those good people is Carla Nelson. As our state senator, Carla has stayed focused on what matters most. In particular I appreciate her bipartisan work to ensure that our region’s medical field continues to be the strongest in the nation and she has been endorsed by MEDPAC. Her leadership and support at the State Capitol are critically important to our region and our world-class healthcare.

Politics can be nasty, but it doesn’t have to be, and Sen. Carla Nelson has shown how to work in a bipartisan way to get things done. Let’s re-elect her on Nov. 8.
